Every check, one API.

The checks the Stratum app runs, as API calls: one key, one base address, a signed certificate for each job.

Your key

An API key and a test key, made on your API page. Send it as the X-Stratum-Key header.

Test key

Real checks, nothing charged, a daily cap; its certificates say TEST. For building, not for real clients.

Paying

Every API is paid per call from your API balance, with no plan: add money on your API page. Every reply carries X-Stratum-Credit-Balance-Pence; too low a balance is HTTP 402 with neededPence and balancePence, and nothing runs. A refusal or a source failure is never charged. Prices and limits.

A first call

Check a person in one call: the sanctions lists and PEP, with a signed certificate.

The reply is the finished job: its txnId, the checks that ran, what was charged (totalChargedPence) and the certificate’s certHash, which anyone can check at stratumapis.com/verify/<certHash>. A company with its Companies House number gets the company, its owners and directors too ("kyb": true for the whole package). The full reference is under Transactions API.
