Export Controls Screening
Screen a buyer, consignee or supplier against six US export-control lists and the UK, UN, EU and OFAC sanctions lists.
From £59 a month with calls included, and a 14-day free trial · one HTTPS call with your API key, documented with an OpenAPI file · built for UK exporters and manufacturers checking buyers, consignees and end users.
What it does
One call screens a name against six US export-control lists (the Entity List, Denied Persons, Unverified and Military End User lists from BIS, and the State Department's ITAR Debarred and Nonproliferation Sanctions lists) and the four sanctions lists of our Sanctions Screening API (UK, UN, EU and US OFAC). Every result names each list it checked with the date its publisher last changed it, and names any list it could not check. For a UK company, everyone recorded in its ownership at Companies House is screened too, and the result says whether a party on the Entity List or the Military End User List is recorded as owning 50% or more of it, may do, or controls it. The lists come from the official files, refreshed daily. Each result is a screening record, not a licensing decision: whether you need a licence depends on the goods, the destination and the end use.

| trade.gov Consolidated Screening List search | free | US lists only, no UK sanctions list, no record of the check |
Reliability you can build on
Built on the same AWS infrastructure that runs UK banks and government services. Engineered for the kind of always-on availability your compliance workflow expects.
Target 99.9% uptime
Stack uptime is governed by AWS API Gateway (99.95%), Lambda (99.95%) and DynamoDB (99.99%) SLAs. We target 99.9% end-to-end, which works out at roughly 8 hours of downtime per year, worst case.
Hosted in London (eu-west-2)
Single-region UK hosting for low latency to UK customers and predictable data residency.
Screens from our own copy of the lists
Every list is fetched from its publisher once a day at 04:00 UTC and checked before it replaces the last good copy, so a slow or unavailable publisher site never slows or fails a screen. A bulk request stops in time and hands back any names it did not reach.
Contractual SLA on Pro
The Pro plan includes a contractual 99.9% monthly uptime commitment (section 6 of our terms) and priority support, with a response in under 4 hours in UK business hours.
Live status of every API is on our status page.

Why this pricing?
The established export screening tools are priced for trade compliance departments: AEB starts at about €129 a month plus a setup fee and Descartes at about $3,000 a year for one user. Small exporters, forwarders and the developers who build for them are left with the US government's free search, which covers only US lists and keeps no record. This plan undercuts both, with the UK sanctions list that a UK firm actually needs included in the same call, and a dated record of every check.
