SStratum APIs

Editorial policy

Last updated: 9 October 2026

Developers build compliance products on our answers, so the data and the words around it have to be right and traceable. This page says where both come from, how we check them, and how to report a mistake.

What this covers

The API responses, the documentation, the knowledge base, the API and pricing pages, and the certificates the Transactions API issues.

Where the data comes from

Official sources, fetched directly: the UK Sanctions List (FCDO), the UN, EU and US OFAC sanctions lists, Companies House, the FCA Register, the EPC register, Environment Agency flood data and the other public datasets named on each API page. Responses say which sources were used and when each was last refreshed, so an answer can be traced back to the list version it came from.

How we check the words around it

  • Knowledge base answers lead with the answer, name their primary source (the law, the regulator or the register) and show the date they were last checked.
  • Every price on the site and in the docs comes from one price list, the same one the API charges from.
  • An answer never says a check ran unless it did: when a source is unavailable the response says so, and that part is not charged.
  • After any large change, we review the claims made across every page.

What we don’t do

We report what public registers and official lists say. We don’t give legal advice; you and your customers make the compliance decisions.

Corrections

If a response, a doc or a page is wrong or out of date, email support@stratumapis.com with the link or the request and what you think is wrong. We check it against the source, fix it, and update the date shown on the page.
