SStratum APIs

For software firms

Build UK compliance checks into your product

Your users already have to check their clients: estate and letting agents, conveyancers, accountants, lenders, exporters. Give them the checks inside the software they use every day, from one API, with a signed certificate for every job.

What you can build in

  • Sanctions screening on the UK, UN, EU and US OFAC lists, refreshed daily from the official sources, with every list and its date named in the answer.
  • Company and owners: the Companies House record, the people with significant control and everyone who runs the company, each screened.
  • Export controls screening of a buyer, consignee or supplier against six US export-control lists as well as the sanctions lists.
  • The FCA register with the Warning List, and property data (EPC and MEES, flood, crime).
  • Whole jobs: the transactions API runs a letting, sale or client onboarding in one call, keeps the record and issues one signed certificate that can carry your user's firm name. Webhooks tell your system when a check finds a possible match or a watched name changes.

Prices

Paid per check from credit, with no monthly minimum. The lower price applies from 1,000 a month on your account.

Start building today

  1. Create an account. No card needed.
  2. Use your free test key: 50 real checks in total on any API to see real answers, fixed test names that always give a match (free whenever you build), and test certificates marked as tests.
  3. Read the documentation. Every API has an OpenAPI file, and this guide shows how to give one to an AI agent.
  4. Top up credit when you go live, and send us a note so we know you're there.

What your security review will ask

  • Hosting in London, encryption, keys stored only as hashes, backups and incident notice: security.
  • Who else handles data and for how long we keep it: the privacy policy.
  • Allowances, request sizes and what happens at each: limits.
  • Each API answering, live: the status page.
